Frequently Asked Questions (Q&A)
Everything you need to know about W Station and multi-account management.
1. What exactly is W Station?
W Station is a specialized desktop application designed for Windows that acts as a wrapper for WhatsApp Web. It allows you to log into multiple WhatsApp accounts simultaneously in completely isolated, separate tabs without the need for different browsers or incognito mode.
2. Is W Station free to use?
Yes! W Station is currently 100% free to use. You can create and manage unlimited WhatsApp profiles without any restrictions. We may introduce premium features in the future, but the core multi-session capabilities are free.
3. Is my WhatsApp data secure and private?
Absolutely. W Station does not intercept, read, or store any of your chat messages on our servers. All your WhatsApp cache, local storage, and session data are stored securely on your own computer's hard drive inside isolated sandbox folders.
4. How is this different from using Chrome Incognito?
Incognito mode deletes your session when you close the browser, forcing you to scan the QR code every single time. W Station saves your sessions persistently. Once you log in, your account stays logged in forever, just like the official WhatsApp app.
5. Can I use W Station on Mac or Linux?
Currently, W Station is exclusively built for Windows operating systems (Windows 10 and 11) using a proprietary lightweight native engine and WebView2. Mac and Linux versions are planned for future releases.
6. Will it consume a lot of RAM like Google Chrome?
No. Because W Station is built with a highly optimized native architecture (not Electron), it doesn't run a heavy Chromium instance in the background for the UI. It uses your native Windows WebView2, resulting in significantly lower CPU and RAM usage.
7. How do I get notifications for incoming messages?
W Station uses a silent notification system. Instead of noisy pop-ups, you will see a subtle unread badge (a number) appear on your tabs and sidebar the moment you receive a new message in any of your active sessions.
8. Do I need to keep my phone connected to the internet?
No! W Station fully supports WhatsApp's Multi-Device feature. Once you scan the QR code to link your device, you can turn off your phone or disconnect it from the internet, and W Station will continue to send and receive messages independently.
9. Can my WhatsApp account get banned for using this?
No. W Station simply loads the official, unmodified WhatsApp Web interface inside a secure desktop container. We do not use unofficial APIs, bots, or modifications that violate WhatsApp's Terms of Service.
10. How do I update W Station to the latest version?
W Station will automatically notify you when a new update is available. In future versions distributed through the Microsoft Store, updates will be handled automatically in the background by Windows.
11. Can I preview documents and Excel files directly in W Station?
Yes! W Station features an In-App Document Previewer supporting Excel (.xlsx, .csv), Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), PDF, and text files. You can preview documents instantly inside the app or launch them in Microsoft Office with a single click.
12. Do background accounts keep receiving messages if I don't switch to their tab?
Yes. Our background keep-alive and auto-reconnect engine keeps all your WhatsApp sessions continuously active, receiving incoming chats in real-time and updating unread badges on your tabs and Windows Taskbar.
13. Does W Station leave hidden background processes after closing?
No. Built with native Windows Job Object integration, W Station automatically terminates all child WebView2 processes as soon as you exit, guaranteeing zero zombie processes and releasing 100% of used RAM.
